Another ministry year is about to kick-off, and we all look forward to the coming rhthyms that will guide the flow of our year; as well as the coming conversations, healing, connections, growth and memorable moments that are going to mark the 2019/2020 Community Group ministry!
Can I encourage you to take a moment before jumping in to REFLECT?
Now would be a great time to sit down with pen and paper (or phone and finger) and write down a few reminders about why you’re doing this. Think about questions like:
- What is it about leading a Community Group that fires you up?
- Who is joining your group that you need to be intentionally CONNECTING to others in your group?
- Is there a verse or a passage of Scripture that God is laying on your heart that you can pray over the individuals in your group?
Writing down a reminder of why you’re doing this can be helpful to get through (and even excel through) whatever’s to come. While we don’t know what that is, we do serve such a Faithful and Good God who holds all of this in His hands.
I find, when I’m lacking zeal, that if I go back to my vision and hopes for that endeavor, I can regain that confidence and the zest with which I started.
Be encouraged. This ministry will bear fruit this year! God wants to use you to equip His Body to minister to one another and to the community.
Hebrews 12:1-2- “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”
