Our goal is to provide a safe and healthy environment for every child, family, and volunteer. To help prevent the spread of illness, we ask that children only attend when they are well.
Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring their child meets the guidelines below before attending any NextGen program.
Children Should Stay Home If They Have Any of the Following
A child must not attend if they have experienced any of the following symptoms within the past 24 hours:
- Fever of 100.3°F or higher
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Persistent or severe cough
- Difficulty breathing or wheezing
- Severe sore throat
- Unusual fatigue or lethargy
- Unexplained rash
- Eye drainage or pink/red eyes consistent with conjunctivitis
- Thick green or yellow nasal discharge accompanied by fever
- Any contagious illness
Children must be fever-free for at least 24 hours without fever-reducing medication before returning. Children may return when they are no longer contagious according to a healthcare provider and symptoms have improved.
If a Child Becomes Ill During Ministry
If a child develops symptoms while attending:
- The child will be separated from the group and supervised by a volunteer.
- Parents/guardians will be contacted immediately.
- A parent/guardian must pick up the child as soon as possible.
Final Discretion
For the safety of all children and volunteers, children’s ministry leaders may decline to admit a child who appears ill, even if symptoms are not listed above.
Our Commitment
Our ministry will work to maintain a healthy environment by:
- Cleaning and disinfecting toys and surfaces regularly
- Encouraging regular handwashing
- Providing appropriate hygiene supplies
- Training volunteers in basic health and safety procedures
