While NextGen at Village Church works to provide a safe environment, occasional accidents can happen when working with children. If a child is injured during a program, volunteers follow clear procedures to ensure proper care.

Steps include:

1. Assessing the situation to determine whether emergency medical care is needed
2. Contacting a Director, staff or core team member immediately.
3. If necessary, emergency services (911) will be called and parents listed in a student’s PCO profile will be contacted right away. During off site activities listed Emergency Contacts will be contacted. 
4. For minor injuries, a trained adult will provide appropriate care.

An incident report will be completed for any injury and kept on file for documentation and insurance purposes.
